As shravaks we should avoid any occupations that enable violence. Being proud of someone for reaching a position that directly and indirectly begets violence, deception through espionage and that puts national interests over ethical and moral ones is something antithetical to being Jain. Yes someone has to do it but it’s clearly someone who sees career opportunities or nationalism as greater than having righteous values. I have noticed the hyper jingoism is becoming a problem all across the world in recent years and it’s leading to more conflicts and wars. It’s very sad to see.

You can buy groceries and cook by yourself, but this is only a trivial problem. 

The bigger problem is, what about your spiritual health? KSA is not only an anaarya country, but also there’s the absence of Jin Mandirs, Sadhu Bhagwants and Sadharmik brothers. Updeshmala, composed by Dharmadas Gani who was initiated by Mahavir Swami Bhagwan himself, describes where a Shravak lives in one of its shlokas:

*न य वसइ साहुजणविरहियंमि देसे बहुगुणे वि।*
&gt;Even though a country may be endowed with a lot of prosperity etc., [a Shravak] does not stay there if there is an absence of Sadhu Bhagwants in that country. (Updeshmala, gatha. 236)

There are Jain's living there actually. DM me with details. I don't think Jain food could be an issue

You may find an Indian providing tiffin services in these countries. Do network and check. Best to do is find a facebook group for the community / compound / city you are going to be in - and ask over there.

South Indian restaurants are there where you usually get Jain food. Hummus many places make Jain. So is a lot of Italian and Mexican. If you go and talk with restaurants a day earlier, they will make other meals Jain. People are kind and helpful.

But eating out everyday becomes expensive so tiffin is ideal. Which is usually available in Middle East countries.

The only thing is to have a committed mind. People who go with a mind like "I'll try" won't end up finding food. Have to be strongly committed.

**I have a Jain friend in India who has to travel abroad for work regularly, mostly to South East Asian countries. She always carries ready to eat food packets from home and almost always ends up getting sick from eating too many preservatives in these foods for days at end, let alone jain food as often she doesnt get any vegetarian food. Happy Cow app does work for vegetarian food but in India people are particular about not using bone/ meat broth/ fish oil etc for any vegetarian preparation at any stage. Trust factor becomes an issue for them. Nice people of Reddit, please assist me in how you go about finding legit vegetarian and Jain food places whilst travelling abroad ?**

3 months is quite long for this idea. For shorter trips you can consider dehydrated food. Eat easy is a brand which provides lot of Jain options

Derasar is mostly word used by people of Gujarat and Rajasthan side. And mostly Shwetambars.

It is Gujarati word for temple. Its synonymous to Mandir.

Navkar Mantra is the most auspicious Mantra for Jains because it carries all the essence of Jainism.

God is a level, not a person. Any soul has the potential to attain that level, given they act towards it. There is only a Namaskar / paying respect to the various higher spiritual levels one can achieve. There is no request to any God for any kind of blessing.

The power of the Mantra comes from the realization that one is on their own. At max, they have the choice to follow the path that many spiritually successful people followed before them.

Mother. Ma. Amma. Mere. Madre. Maman. Eomma. Why do 98% of all languages have a strong emphasis on phoneme /m/ to denote mother?

Because it's how we are wired. The way our mouths are formed, the easiest syllable to speak by a baby is the one that makes the /m/ sound. So this is usually the first sound they make. And it just so happens that the first thing they call for is their mother. To denote "mine" they call "ma."

The study of linguistics and phonetics is interesting. It states that Namo inherently means Not Me. Namo Arihantanam means - Not Me but Arihant. My focus is on the Arihant so that I can learn from him.

Our Navkar Mantra has come up very organically and naturally. Every syllable has a meaning. The syllables are formed to denote the exact meaning in the most natural probabilistic way possible.

Thats why, they also say that the Navkar Mantra is every lasting.

Navkar mantra is Shashwat, that means it has no origin and is used everywhere as same, be it this BharatKshetra(where we are living) or be it MahavidehKshetra Or any other kshetra. Whereas other mantras were created in this Avisparini(this half cycle).
There are three Shashwat mantras that I am aware of -
 1) Navkar Mantra
2) Logassa 
3)  .... can't remember

Firstly, beliefs are beliefs because they are unproven. Secondly Rishabdev the first tirthankara, is believed to be giant and not Mahavira Swami.

But belief originate from generationally carried stories or some other cues

Now having said that, it is still a belief, many things gets proven by science, many things don't and many disproven too. In fact in science the proved things also get disproven by advancement in technology or discovery of new facets or vice versa.

Mahavir was not a giant in his era. Because everyone had a similar height that time. Around 7 haath (hands) tall.

As per Jainism, height of 1st tirthankar Rishbh dev was 500 dhanush. But even he wasn't a giant, because everyone had that height that time.

As time passes the height of humans will keep decreasing and after some 20000 years height will be one and half feet.

Ofcourse there is no proof. It's just written in scriptures
